From Where I started
I’m Vasilis, a UX Designer from Greece with a background in web design. My professional journey began as a Web Designer, where I discovered a growing passion for human-centered design. In 2013, early in my career, I started to crafting interfaces pixel by pixel using Photoshop. From then, the design tools landscape has evolved significantly. An an example Figma and FigJam, help me focus more on clarity and the collaboration with the overall team. Along the way, I learned front end development skills like HTML, CSS, and PHP. Working fluently with both industries of design and development gave me a holistic approach how to implement an end to end digital experiences.

Why I Switched to UX Design
Through various collaborations and experience in the design field, I discovered an interest in human psychology and a passion to design experiences. I frequently interacted with different types of stakeholders and on another hand I noticed and analyzed the challenges they faced with digital products. Working with different stakeholders and users taught me a lot. I became really interested in learning about what people need and how they behave when using products. I also learned more about how businesses work. This helped me create better experiences that work well for both users and business. This experience was just the start of my journey in UX design. After that, I started learning more about the user experience and psychology by taking courses at the Interaction Design Foundation.
How My Experiences Shaped My Work
One of most eye-opening chapters in my journey was working remotely for a digital agency in Singapore. I was a part of small team of project manager, developer and writer and we contributed in their own way. This taught me how to work better with stakeholders and especially across different time zones. I learned to communicate better, work faster, be agile, and focus on creating solutions that drive business growth. My prototypes aim to strike the perfect balance between user satisfaction and measurable business outcomes.
Around that time, I also started exploring human psychology more seriously. I realized that knowing how people think and behave is really important when designing products that people will use. This helps me understand how people feel. In the same time, what they don’t find useful, what confuses them, and how they interact with different flows and features.
This psychological insight has transformed my overall approach. Today, I create experiences with a deeper focus on users’ emotional experiences and real challenges. Also, this approach makes me more effective at solving problems. As an instance , how I design an eCommerce login and register flow, how to improve the cross selling products etc. This understanding of psychology and empathetic approach, also helped me become a mentor. Almost, in my daily routine, I guiding others who want to start a career in design while helping them grow both personally and professionally. In the last 2 years I helped start ups to grow, think out of box and create an comprehensive digital experiences.
This shift wasn’t theoretical, it helped me build empathy in real projects. I saw it work in real life , when I mentored a junior designer struggling with imposter syndrome. It reminded me that thoughtful user experience solves not only usability issues but also helps people feel comfortable and confident of themselves when they use a product.
My Design Values & Approach
I believe values shouldn’t just be listed. They should show up how we design, collaborate and make decisions. Here are some of the values that shape my workflow.
Empathy
I’ve experienced both sides, as a frustrated user and as a designer trying to solve problems for unknowns. That helps me stay focused. Whether I’m working on a checkout flow or mentoring a aspiring designer, I try to put myself in their shoes, listen deeply, and explain with patience and intention.

Clarity
I like things to be well organized and clear. Not because I’m strict, but because when things are clear, then people feel more confident using them I enjoy turning complex information, into something that makes people think, “Ah, I get it now.”

Curiosity
Curiosity is what led me into UX in the first place. It keeps me asking questions, keeps me challenging assumptions, and continuously learning. Whether through research, testing, or simply watching how someone struggles with a form.

Trust & Accountability
Design needs a cooperation and teamwork. I believe in open feedback, shared ownership, and showing up with honesty. If something doesn’t work, I want to know, and I want to fix it, together. So, I have worked on fast paced projects, where open feedback helped us pivot early, before the real damage was done.

Simplicity with Depth
I aim for simplicity not by removing complexity quickly, but by understanding it deeply. That’s where I think meaningful, lasting design happens.

How I Work With Teams and Clients
As a UX designer, my primary responsibility is to conduct customer research and develop empathy with users. Then, effectively communicate those valuable insights to the entire team. Through careful observation and analysis , I identify customer needs, the challenges and pain points. Working collaboratively with the team , to brainstorm and develop solutions.
My process involved creating wireframes to present the idea to stakeholder or the overall team and detailed prototypes to bring ideas to life. I test these ideas with real users and carefully analyzing feedback to improve the product, or service. Beyond, the launch I maintain an approach to continuously gathering user feedback and making the necessary improvements to enhance the user experience over time.
I thrive in teams that they are open and solve problem together. Instead of trying to prove that I’m right, I focus on finding solutions that work for everyone. I’m aligning with developers early to ensure feasibility I’m happy to translating user feedback into business language for stakeholders. I am to be the bridge between needs and outcomes. Even, the deadlines are tight, I believe in continuous iteration, clear documentation and brief. These facts building mutual trust.

What I’m looking for
As I look ahead, I’m excited about the opportunities that come from being part of a collaborative and agile team. In this environment the research isn’t an assumption or just a checkbox in their workflow and operations, but a fundamental mindset that drives innovation and deliver user-centered solutions. I’m attracted to environments that embrace complex and wicked problems and are willing to go deep to find the best possible solutions. I value continuous improvement and see challenges as opportunities to grow, both for the product , service and the people behind it.
I’d love to be a part of a team where open communication, shared learning, thoughtful design and positive work environment is part of the everyday culture. I’m looking for a place where team members feel comfortable sharing their ideas and giving honest feedback. The company have a well structured (UX) team, with clear roles and responsibilities. I ‘ m strongly believe in collaboration and I would like to work in a environment that encourage this, between designers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.

Personally, I believe in short focused meetings and constructive briefs, because they add value in my workflow. Knowing the “why” before I start diving into a problem helps me to make fewer assumptions and deliver more meaningful solutions.
The company should demonstrate a strong understanding of UX principles, have well defined design process and operations. Additionally, the company should have an holistic overview in user experience and is taken seriously from the very beginning of any project, using it to guide important decisions. I believe true innovation comes from facing challenges head-on and learning from any iteration. That’s the kind of impact I want to be a part of.
